Team Pilipinas defeated China in the Frisbee Tourney

 


Boracay Island, Malay Aklan- The Pilipinas Ultimate Mixed Team has defeated the People's Republic of China (China PRK)  during the showdown for the 2025 WFDF Asia Oceanic Ultimate Championships!.

According to the Philippine Flying Disc Association, the Pilipinas team scored 15 against China's eight points. The said showdown is being held in Kamisu City, Japan. The event ran from September 3 to September 7.


The said event is a regional tournament organized by the World Flying Disc Federation featuring the sport of Ultimate Frisbee.

Former Malay Councilor Datu Yap Sumndad, who is a co-manager manager of the Pilipinas team, said that because of China's defeat, they will face the Singapore team in the defending championship match this September 7.

He also shared that at least four members of the Pilipinas Ultimate Team were Boracaynons. The four Boracaynons include Paul Richie Mariano, John Manuel Sacapaño, and Alled Jay Libo-on.

In the 2024 tournament, the Pilipinas team won against the Indian National Ultimate Frisbee Team during the same competition held in Shiaraharma, Japan,

Lumaban si Zeus bilang bahagi ng mga kinatawan ng kanilang training center. Two Aklanon teen stars in a nationwide theater showing

  Boracay Island—At least two Akeanon teens will star in an anticipated romantic movie set to be shown nationwide on July 9. The teens were Adrianna Nicolette Cooper of Malay, Aklan, and Early Grace Abarro of Altavas, Aklan. The movie also featured some microfinance workers based in Boracay Island. Shot in 2024, the film 'I Remember You' follows Isagani (JC Santos), a successful bank manager sent to Boracay to help a struggling community, despite painful memories from his past with his ex-girlfriend, Debbie (Valeen Montenegro). FDCP, PACE partner for film educators’ training in Mapúa
