Two Filipinas to launch 'caring' garments for health professionals
KALIBO, Aklan- Two Filipinas, one hailing from this town will soon be launching a 'caring ' garment for health professionals in Los Angeles. California.
Maria Damian, who hailed from Barangay Estancia, Kalibo Aklan said that they call the garment brand 'Alaga Clothing.'
Along with her is another Filipina curator, Loj Tonacao. The latter was named as an Outstanding ASEAN young entrepreneur last year, representing the Philippines.
"With two Filipinas curating through their own expertise, Alaga was born. Both entrepreneurs, both passionate in their fields — united by one mission: To bring care and culture together in what we wear," she said.
"Inspired by our healers. Honoring our weavers. Alaga is more than medical clothing — it’s a tribute to heritage, compassion, and quiet strength. We’re launching soon, and we’d love your support. For every nurse, every caregiver, every soul who serves — this is for you. This is Alaga — care, woven with pride," Damian said.
The launching is expected to be sometime this August.
Damian was a respected medical entrepreneur in California, USA and founded Legacy Entertainment and Legacy Records.
Already, Filipino-American celebrities in California have expressed support for the said brand. Among them were Christian Bables. Lyndon Adolf Manuel Apostol,
among others.
